  • My trip to Guilin, China

    Dear students,

How was your holiday? Some of you told me you went to other countries for a visit. I want to share the pictures from my trip to Guilin and Yangshuo in China.

Guilin has many hills with very strange shapes. They are different from the hills in Hong Kong. Do you think they look strange?

People like to find shapes in the hills. Can you see the two gorillas? They look like a baby and mummy gorilla talking to each other:)

Guilin is also famous for river Li. This is a famous show that is performed by people on the river! You can also see the hills behind them.

The fisherman in Guilin use birds called cormorants to catch fish! They dive inside the water and catch fish that are hiding in the water. The water in this river was not deep.

I also saw my favourite bird, the peacock. It is my favourite bird because it is so colourful--blue, green, brown, black and white.

Here is a picture of the sun setting behind the hills. You can see a fisherman on a bamboo raft.

This is me in a Chinese dress. Do I look good?

I also saw some caves! When I was inside, I felt like I was in another world--like in a story book!

The sharp things that are hanging from the ceiling are called stalctites and the ones coming out of the ground are called stalcmites. Sometimes, they join together and make a long piece like in the picture below.

In some parts of the caves, there was water. It was very clean and looked just like a mirror.
Can you see the clear reflections in the water?

I took pictures of these wish ribbons hanging from trees. Can you guess what I wished for?

There were beautiful Chinese lanterns hung everywhere. Does this remind you of a festival that is coming soon? Yes, you guessed it.... Chinese New Year!

In the end, here are two more pretty pictures from my trip. Would you like to go here too?
